Finding space for God amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Welcome to the College Catholic Blog!

Whether you’re a college student seeking to grow as a woman or man of God, or you’re yearning to explore the timeless wisdom of Catholicism and the teachings of the early Church, this space is for you. If your spiritual life feels strained or disconnected, we're here to offer the support and encouragement you need. It’s time to break free from the mindset that you’re “too busy” or that there’s “no time” to truly dive deeper into your faith. College is the perfect time to put on your training wheels and live out the faith—learning how to weave it into your everyday life. As St. Paul advises in his letter to Timothy: “Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity” (1 Timothy 4:12).

Understand Catholicism

The Catholic faith, while rich and expressive, can seem like a daunting task to learn - especially for a busy college student juggling school, work, and other responsibilities. On this blog, we’ll break down bite-sized elements of our faith and explore how we can answer God’s call for us to live out a meaningful Catholic life.

Participate in the Sacraments

We will explore practical ways a college student can incorporate spiritual exercises into their daily life, such as praying the rosary, attending adoration, and going to daily Mass.

There’s no better way to grow in your faith than with the support of other young Catholics—equally on fire for the Lord as you are! This page will also provide tips on why you should connect with your college’s Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) team, and from there, join a Bible study, serve those in need, go on retreats, and more.

Why grow in your faith during college?

We're constantly bombarded with messages about how we should live our lives in the secular world. But have you ever stopped to ask yourself, Who am I? What am I made for? The answer is that you have a God in Heaven who loves you and cherishes you as His own daughter or son. College is a rite of passage where we begin to discover who we are and what career path we want to pursue. While education is crucial for strengthening our knowledge and skills in the world, we also need a space to nourish our souls. Now is the time—there’s no better moment than this—to strengthen your faith and grow in communion with your church community!"

“People are made for happiness. Rightly, then, you thirst for happiness. Christ has the answer to this desire of yours. But he asks you to trust him.”

- Blessed Pope John Paul II

The oldest institution in the Western world is the Catholic Church. It traces its history back almost 2,000 years

The Catholic faith (in Greek, Catholic meaning “universal”) is alive and active today with a population of 1.4 billion people worldwide. The church can even trace its origin to Jesus of Nazareth during the period of Roman occupation in the year A.D 3o.
